
Elli Kazakou
Clinical Psychologist
Elli Kazakou is a clinical psychologist. She studied Psychology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She continued her studies on a postgraduate level (Master’s) in Clinical Psychopathology and Psychoanalysis at the Paris Descartes University in France, where she specialized in Clinical Psychopathology of children and adolescents. During the course of her postgraduate studies, she took part in seminars focused on the perinatal period by Professor Sylvain Missonnier. Under his supervision, she completed her thesis on paternal representations of the fetus during pregnancy.
In Paris, as part of her internship, she was able to work in reception facilities for parents, infants and toddlers and their guardians as well as in mental health institutions for children. A highlight of her clinical experience has been her position as psychologist at Necker’s Maternity (Necker – Enfants malades Hospital), where she worked with new mothers and mothers to be. She also supported women and couples experiencing perinatal grief.
Her participation in the interdisciplinary team of Koitida, where scientific knowledge and long-standing experience are combined with youthful enthusiasm, allows her to broaden her own personal experience in the context of a newly founded and pioneering mental health institution.
